The flameless venting device consists of two parts—an explosion vent panel and a flame quenching module. The explosion vent panel responds to the rapid increase in deflagration pressure, immediately opening to reduce pressure. When the expanding fireball passes through the open explosion vent panel, it is intercepted by the flame quenching module. The precision stainless steel mesh supported by a frame acts as a three-dimensional flame trap, extinguishing the flame and ensuring it does not propagate, thereby preventing secondary or multiple explosions. The flame quenching module eliminates deflagration flames, reduces the temperature of hot gases, and captures both burning and unburned dust passing through the open explosion vent panel.

At the same time, pressure waves or noise generated by production equipment are also reduced to a minimal level. When flames pass through the mesh flame arrestor element, heat exchange occurs between the element and the flame, rapidly cooling the high-temperature flame, venting pressure and smoke, while also reducing the intensity of pressure waves or noise generated by the production equipment.

The pressure waves and flames from an explosion may cause secondary or multiple explosions, creating risks. Therefore, relying solely on explosion vent panels for dust collectors is not reliable. We recommend using flameless explosion venting + isolation technology (a more economical solution) or explosion suppression + isolation technology to ensure production safety.

There are three main methods for dust explosion protection: venting, isolation, and suppression.

Venting: Releases explosion pressure in advance through a pressure relief device to protect equipment from damage.
